Chronology of cameras Balda
The Balda Ideal cameras are folding cameras in the 6.5 x 11 format. The first model was launched in 1930, requiring assistance to open the folding door. It wasn't until the Ideal I in 1933 that the new struts with automatic opening were introduced. The Ideal III (1933) can also be used with a 6.5 x 9 cm plate.
__________This Ideal I is excellently crafted, maintaining perfect rigidity even after more than 80 years. This specimen, imported from Germany, features a French Boyer Topaz 4.5/120 mm lens.
It is equipped with a Compur shutter at 1/250, dating back to 1934, although this model could also be fitted with other shutters such as Pronto or Prontor II.
At the back, the non-actinic window is protected by a metal cover.
